Last month we headed to Barcelona for a much needed getaway from the cold and grey London winter. Having never travelled to Barcelona before, I had to idea how many attractions there were to see. We easily could have stayed for longer there was that much to see and do!
Despite Spain typically not being the most vegan friendly country, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of 100% vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Barcelona. We only went through about a third of our restaurant list (mostly because we kept going back to Flax and Kale it was that good). Bear in mind you may struggle to find vegan and vegetarian options in the main tourist areas, as they are mostly filled with restaurants serving traditional Catalan cuisine. Generally the more “hip” areas with younger crowds had plenty of vegetarian and vegan eateries – most of which were very affordable! Do your research beforehand, and you will be inundated with choice!
